Biography

Jolyon Palmer is a British racing driver in the highly competitive GP2 championship, a feeder series to Formula One.

Jolyon has marked himself out as one of the brightest young prospects in world motorsport following a promising debut GP2 season in 2011 with Arden where he secured a string of top 10 results, followed by a maiden podium for Addax during the GP2 Finals event in Abu Dhabi.

2012 will see Jolyon compete in an increased 12-round GP2 calendar racing with iSport, with 11 races running alongside the official Formula One World Championship together with one standalone event.

Prior to GP2, Jolyon enjoyed an outstanding season in the 2010 FIA Formula Two Championship where he finished runner-up after dominating the first half of the campaign. Indeed, Palmer delivered several master-classes during the season, belying his young age with a number of superb drives which saw him push eventual champion Dean Stoneman all the way until the very final round of the season. Such results meant Jolyon led F2 for much of the 2010 season, ending with five wins, ten podiums and five pole positions to his credit.

Spurred on by such success, the young Briton now has his sights firmly set on achieving further success in GP2 and a career at the very highest level of the sport.
